I deleted it off of Remove/Add.. And I restarted my computer and everything was fine. Is everything really fine? And when i tried blocking the websites, it saved as a notepad. Are the sites still blocked?

OK so I got it off my desktop and the computer by system restore and it worked fine untill around 1 month later, the thing popped back up again after being used by family members. Now when I try the system restore, it wont work. I can click the Next button all I want but it wont go Next… I tried Avast because my friend had this problem and used Avast to scan and got it off but it doesn’t work for me. Like I said in my previous post, I already tried that manual crap and it doesn’t work. any other suggestions?

i found a quick solution to get rid of system security firewall pop-up 1st step to do is close all webs and log off restart computer quickly keep clicking on f8 key until you see safemode then stroll your arrow keys to safemode there are two safe mode try the first one click on enter until your computer screen have numbers or graphis stroll the arrow key down to ok or restore click enter . if nothing happenrepeat over closing windows log off and restart computer make sure your finger is on f8 key before computer start up quickly keep clicking f8 key this time try the second safemode notification repeat steps as above. you should be able to go to add or remove program incontrol panel. f8 key is rebooting. system security firewall should be gone

Well Im with Miss Mad, altho Im not mad LOL

I’ve tried all of this.. even the little link on the page that cleans it.. well it just masks it… but I can’t run any program while this is there.. I’ve done the HKEY removals, and a few others, but still it is not letting go.

I will play more later tho… yeeee hawwww

Using your instructions I have been able to open task manager in safe mode. However, I cannot create a system restore point. When I try to do so, I get a message that system restore is turned off and I should contact my domain administrator. I do not know whether this is another manifestation of System Security or whether my dh for some reason actually turned the function for this computer when setting up our home network, but after 2 hours effort I am convinced I can not turn System Restore back on again. DH is currently unavailable to help out or answer questions.

But task manager shows only 12 processes running and I am hoping that you, wise and patient Luciana, will take a look and can tell me which one or ones are likely System Security. Task Manager shows:

I’m real tempted by these last two, but I am afraid to disable anything without being sure what it is. Please help.

Sorry the last comment box was prematurly submitted…as I was saying…I recently got this virus, it seemed like it was some type of remote access used to infect my computer. I did have a browser window open, however I was not actively using the internet at the time. All of the sudden a black DOS like screen popped up on my desktop…my destop background went blue and a warning was posted along with binary code in the background….I immediately cold booted my computer, upon restart the Sytem Security was still in control of all of my executables and the desktop maintained the same appearance as described above…I then tried to access Control Panel to no avail as a bubble message popped up with a message about some file infection…after this I restarted my computer and tried to boot into Safe Mode…once selecting the option to boot into Safe Mode it acts as though it is going to load and then routes me back to normal mode…somehow this virus has taken over my boot up and executable files, completely hindering me from following the steps provided in this tutorial…should I remove the hard drive on the infected computer and install is as a secondary drive on a clean computer and then run spyware on it? Or is there a way to create a boot disk that will override the commands this program is running in my bootup files? The infected computer is useless as it will not allow me to connect to the net, run programs, open files or boot into safe mode…PLEASE ADVISE!!!!

Thank you Luciana, but John’s reply (#6) was the easiest. Just do a restore in safe mode. It apparently removed that fake Security System, as now I’m able to install McAfee which wouldn’t allow me to do previously.
To reiterate: go to Programs > Accessoies > Systems Tools > Systems restore in Safe Mode (F8 upon startup). Simple, be patient and persistent.

OMG! It really worked!!! This website is absofreakinglutely fantabulous!!!! I love you Luciana! Thank you so much for ur help 80). I followed ur F8 instructions, Add/Remove programs didn’t work for me & like the other cyberclient I got frustrated. upset & intimidated. But I didn’t give up, I followed one other option using the F8 instructions again only this time doing a System Restore. I’m back! I am so gr8ful 2U, this site & all the Q & A’s I’ve read here that’ve lead me this far. Thanx Again!

Boot your computer in a safe mode and follow the manual removal guide. Make sure you delete all the malicious files and registry entries.

Use the manual removal guide. System Security can block anti-spyware tools but it can’t block you.

Open the Task Manager and kill the 17459064 .exe process, then you should be able to delete the file.

You can copy the install of Spyware Doctor to a cd and then copy the file to the infected computer. You won’t be able to run a scan from a cd; you’ll need to install the program.

I tried all of this in safe mode and everything and I even tried to restore to an earlier date and yet it is still on there even I tried to format my HD and install fesh window I could not!!!
I have been messing around with this for 2 days now and still cant get it off it overrides avg, Pc tools, malwarebytes and everything else when I delete everthing that

Now can install any pctool spydoctor on a CD and start the computerwith scan can you tell me how?

System Security was on my Add/remove programs list and I was able to delete it, and I did all the steps but the last one

Hi all!
I don’t have problem anymore with this “system security”.Ah .I put again Windows on computer and now is like i start Windows from start.But my data is erased.But i’m happy ,because i can work now in “normal mode”.
That’s my advice.Again “bring up” Windows.All explanations on net is just problem.It takes time.But when you “bring up” Windows again,don’t do thing like I do.Stuff you want to safe,put on DVD or CD or like that.Like that you wont lose stuff like I do.

You still got some options left. First of all run un-updated Spyware Doctor version in a safe mode. It might still be helpful. You say you couldn't find System Security files on your computer. There's this thing: there are two versions of this malware, System Security and System Security 2009. Have you tried manual removal of System Security 2009?

First of all, block the malicious websites using your HOSTS file. The list of the websites is given on the manual removal tutorial and the explanation how to block them is given right here. The next step is stopping malicious processes, in this case those are 1632575944.exe and 1975936162.exe. If you have problems killing the processes, use the tutorial given next to "Stop and remove System Security processes" section: Read more how to kill System Security processes. Simply follow all the removal steps carefully.

Hey.. I tried the manually taking this crap off the computer. I did the blocking of sites, and then ALL THE OTHER STEPS, I couldn’t find them. I went to the task manager, the regedit thing on the “Run…” program. I DID ALL OF THIS ON SAFE MODE. I tried downloading the Spyware doctor and it wont let me open it in normal mode so I try openning it in SAFE mode and then it says the database needs to update or something and I click Update or what ever it says there, and it says UPDATE FAIL so I CANT RUN THE STUPID SCAN! I’m not able to open any applications because it says that stupid bubble thing that its infected or whatever…. I’m going to try to system restore right now, can someone help me get this piece of crap off my computer??? By the way, I am using my laptop(Windows Vista), and my DESKTOP(Windows XP) is the one with the stupid system security… HELP ME PLEASE!

System Security shouldn’t block your security programs once you end its processes using Task Manager. I strongly recommend installing some kind of anti-spyware because AVG is anti-virus and it’s not supposed to deal with threats like System Security.

Hi all!I have the same thing.And i can work only in safe mode.And i can’t find good program for delete that thing.Well…..free program .When i thru Google find this doctor ,i thought it’s free.It is,but only for downloading and installing.They say they wish to help,but giving number from my credit card is crazy as much as “System security” is.
I try that “wizard” program for back point,but in safe mode I can’t choose date i wish.So,I have no idea what to do for now.
Anyone have some new idea?Or site with ALL FREE program for cleaning that thing?

I have searched all over the internet to remove that virus, i think its known as Security System 200x
x = whatever year.

i got the following on my PC
92790586.exe
12780594.exe

When i click on the little pop up for kicks i get the following pop ups.
Trojan:WIN32/WINWEBSEC
Set WindowPOS Fail
Error Code 1406

i also searched other sites and ive found out that the exe file is different on every site.

This was found on a Windows Vista, i would try to remove them or delete them but im too chicken to find out if those will mess up the whole OS. that is the reason im posting here, If i can get some people out there to identify this little bastard as a virus then i would kill the thing, just let me know. or i could experiment it myself but i need some words of advise.

Hey, you guys, if your computer isn’t letting you run any antivirus programs or any applications like Notepad and Task Manager, here’s what you can do. It worked for me:

1. Go to Safe Mode when booting up your computer
2. Go to Help and Support, then do a System Restore to a date before you got infected with the virus.

Then your PC will restart and you should have your old settings back, and the virus is gone!

To boot in the Safe mode, restart your computer and as soon as it starts to boot up start pressing the F8 key. You’ll see a list of options to start a PC in a safe mode or in a normal mode. Choose the safe mode and then use manual removal of system security.

this stupid system security is ruining my cousins computer. and the worst thing is i didn’t even actually download it. when i came to his house it kept popping up so eventually i clicked it and when i found out it wasblocking everything a downloaded, all my apps/programs, and task manager i got scared. i haven’t tried using safe mode yet cause honestly i don’t know how lol. i really want this thing off of my cousins computer. if there is anything that you guys can do to help me i would greatly appreciate it.
