I am helping a friend who got infected. I had to remove his hard drive from his machine and slave it in an external enclosure and plug it into the USB port of my machine which runs Trend Internet security pro 2010 and then ran a full scan of his drive. The TISS software removed over 100 infections!! I replaced his drive back into his machine (remember to reset the jumper to master). I can access the internet, however I believe some of the windows operating system files are a bit corrupted and a repair or reformat may be inevitable. I had to go to work so I couldn’t complete what i planned to do. I am printing the removal instructions and am going to try that first. Will let you know how it turns out. 4/23/2010……………Norm, Incidentally all of his personal files are intact and I was able to back them up.I t appears it affects the windows operating system files predominately, Hope this helps somebody…..

guys im basically stuffed im serious coz XP Internet Secuirty 2010 is on my compuer and atm it block my internet…i can go on internet but the security webpage appear everytime i click something… atm im on my window 7 on same computer n i dont know when till it will infect my window 7. I got 2 assignments due in like 2 days and that on window 7 i dont have microsoft words or any programs and i can’t download anything because the settings are on my window xp which is blocked with xp internet secuirty 2010. I dont know how i got it but i went to camp for like 2 days maybe my ******* siblings installed it. what retards…

Keeping XP Internet Security 2010 on your computer is not a good idea. It interrupts work of normal security programs and it redirects web browser to deceptive website; this way you get your computer infected even more. Antivirus is not a solution in this case, you need antispyware. Have you tried Spyware Doctor?

Hi I just purchased xp windows 2010 by accident. It seemed like it was the only thing to do to get my computer to run. Aftr i purchased it I canceled my credit card. But is it still ok to run my computer with this in the backround. Also If i get another antivirus will it get rid of it.

Brian, were you able to make the associations under Folder Options? I am having this same problem now…I think probably becauses I didn’t read the part first about unregistering DLL files. Somebody please help!

Not sure if this helps anybody, but I’m following these removal instructions on my computer…

On my end the virus seems to be called, “MSASCui.exe.”

Possibly a new name for the same old thing?

i deleted everything from the above registry list (the entire line). After i did this every desktop icon says This file does not have a program associated with it for preforming this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel. But if i right click the icon and run as… there is a box checked which if i uncheck it it will allow it to run. Also i cannot connect to the internet at all but other computer can wirelessly on that connection.
