thanks for yor help but this fake windows defender blocks any kind of download that will remove it . it also stops you gettng in the registry, do you have any other advice that might help ?

Boot your PC in a safe mode and you should be able to proceed with manual removal guidelines.

totally sick and tired with vista after all these several years – I speculate I’ll have to grown to be another apple fanboi – ffs Not sure who the chief borg is Apple or Gates?
