I recently purchased this package. It was strongly recommended by several evaluation Review websites. They recomended this software after comparing several Anti Virus programs.
After installation my system have become unstable and very temperamental. everything is taking for ever to open or function. I have had other Anti Virus software in the past and never seen anything like this. It reminds me of 386 processors period when Anti virus were installed on them.
The worst thing is, during system check the software has identified only one old email in my Microsoft outlook 2007 as a virus and because it could not delete it, it move my outlook 2007 email file (Outlook.pst) to Quarantine folder with my blessing. I did not realise that it will Quarantine the whole file with a size of 1.6Gig.
After contacting their supposedly free support team, they said in order to assist I need to register with them for system support. They requested for $200 in-order to assist. I highly challenged their request as it was their software that quarantine my file and it should be able to retrieve it back.
One suggestion from them was to copy the file from Quarantine back to my Outlook folder and rename it, it may work.
I did what was recommended. When open the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, Outlook advises the following:
“Can not open your default email folder, the file C:/document and setting/……../local setting/application data/Microsoft/outlook/outlook.pst is not a personal folders file.”
It then closed Microsoft Office Outlook program.
Then I tried to open the actual Outlook file (note this is My email file) by using windows Explorer. I chose the folder and then tried to open the file by slecting a chosen program. In this case Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
Th programe advised the following:
“Can not open your default email folder, the file C:/document and setting/……../local setting/application data/Microsoft/outlook/outlook.pst is not a valid Win32 application.”
It then closes the Outlook program. I think people should know that this Anti virus is not from this world. Why are Government permites such companies to function. It seem that consumer protrection do not exist.
If anyone out there that can help me, please advise.
Many Thanks
Hari
