I agree with Matt. I had this at work and started my computer in safe mode. I restored it to yesterday’s settings and my computer is seemingly ok. Everything else I was supposed to do (like removing items from the registry, going to the task manager, etc.) I couldn’t do.

The problem I am having is system security wont let me open up my task manager or add/removal popup says(this file is infected) I have spyware on my computer it wont let me pull that up either nor will it let me down load new ones, I’m at a loss here, is this something new? Please help

Craig, I’m in the same boat. I am unable to restart my computer in safe mode as the normal password doesn’t work. I tried just hitting “cancel” and that doesn’t work either. Does anyone know how to get around this?

OH NO! If you bought System Security 2009 the first thing you want to do is PLEASE CANCEL THE CARD NUMBER YOU USED!

This is what I did..

I started Windows in Safe Mode. I used MSCONFIG and then to the STARTUP TAB to disable the programs you do not reconize from the startup. You should be able to see the file location. Write down the location for reference later.

When you reboot your computer, the virus will not load anymore if you disabled the correct exe files.

I restarted my computer and then used a removal tool to delete the files or manually delete them using your written location reference.

Good luck.

…also if you bought the program, the most important thing is to cancel the card that you used to purchase the software.

Has anyone ran in to this problem. When I start computer in safe mode the screen is black/Blank. The only thing that is on the screen is “SAFE MODE” in the four corner of the screen. At this point I can not do anything. crtrl+alt+del will not even work.

I had System Security 2009 on my computer. Thru your help we got it removed. Unfortunately, I can’t access the internet under my account anymore. My internet is working fine. Other users on my computer are able to access the internet thru their accounts but I am not able to. Anyone heard of this & is there anything I can do? Did System Security wipe out some link for me? Thanks.

I’m having a similar issue where system security is not letting me access any type of program. I’m trying to restart my computer in safe mode, but my normal password is not working for the log on to windows. Any idea why this may be happening?

I just wanted anyone that is having difficulty to know that what worked for me was entering safe mode, and then going to Help and Support and using the System Restore function. Hopefully this helps.

I got it after downloading the IMVU messenger software.

i can’t find any of the processes, registry entries, or files. but i have the app for it. it just uploaded like a billion trojan horses ,but the spyware doc found it. yet i cannot download it for personal reasons. so what else can i do? please help!

Files and registry entries may vary depending on the system. There’s nothing wrong if some of these files weren’t installed on your computer.
Boot your computer in a safe mode and go through the manual removal once again. You should be able to terminate malicious processes.
If manual removal is not helpful in your case, i recommend running anti-spyware scan.

I’m trying to do the Manual step-by-step System Security 2009 removal , But i can’t Stop and remove System Security 2009 processes:
05643921.exe
install.exe
00308937.exe

Because I can’t find them ,

AND ..

I already Locate the malicious processes But whenever i click the button ” end Process ” it cant end it..

and ooh.

I can’t Locate and delete System Security 2009 registry entries:
such as : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\systemsecurity200

Ive tried to search it everywhere but it cant find it.
PLEASE HELP ME !

Try the manual removal procedure. Make sure you remove all the malicious files and entries.

To boot in the Safe mode, restart your computer and as soon as it starts to boot up start pressing the F8 key. You’ll see a list of options to start a PC in a safe mode or in a normal mode. Choose the safe mode and then use the removal. Once you’re done with that, restart your computer and click F8 but this time choose normal mode.

System Security 2009 is able to block some applications, but it can’t do that if you boot a PC in a safe mode.

thank you for this information. I appear to have security system 2009 on my PC. My problem is that it will not let me access anything – it’s closes down everything except internet access. so everytime I try to run your removal tool or even run taskmgr, it just won’t let it happen. any ideas???

Are you using the full version of Spyware Doctor? Make sure your Spyware Doctor is updated. I also recommend running a scan in a safe mode.

I downloaded spyware doctor by pc tools to remove the virus system security 2009. It found the virus and claimed to remove it but it is still there and now spyware doctor doesn’t detect it and claims my computer is clean. What gives?
