Safety Center description
Safety Center is a fake security tool. The only thing that makes it a little bit different than other frauds is the design which looks like a combination of Windows Security Center and typical Windows folder.
SafetyCenter offers a bunch of services: performance optimizer, registry cleaner, firewall, malware scanner and even a real-time protection. Too bad none of these functions is real. Safety Center is neither capable of scanning a system nor protecting a computer. It only asks to pay for these services in order to milk money from gullible people. Avoid buying this misleading application. Not only it’s not worth your money, but it’s also not worth the time you’ll spend trying to delete this fraudulent program.
Safety Center is a Rogue Antispyware software

So far, this has been immensely helpful, and I thank you! Everyone who added something was a great help. I have a virus scan running once a day, every day, and still the safety center virus slipped through, so it was wonderful to find a site that had such clear instructions on how to remove it.

service center will not allow us on the web. How can we correct the problem if we can’t get on the web?

You can print the manual removal guide on another computer and then follow the tutorial to delete Safety Center. You can also download removal tools on some other PC and then copy the installation files to your computer on an USB drive.

If you cannot access the internet after a Safety Center infection–getting a “Page cannot be displayed” error–even after you have done all to try to get rid of it, check to see whether SC has set your local machine as a proxy. Open IE, go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections tab>LAN Settings. If a proxy has been established (probably 127.0.0.1:5555) simply uncheck the “use a proxy….” checkbox; you may also, depending on your setup, want to uncheck the “Automatically Detect Settings” checkbox at the top.
