Relnek description
W32.Relnek.A is a very dangerous computer infection. W32.Relnek (a.k.a. Relnek worm) spreads via network shared drives.
The main goal of W32 Relnek is corrupting executable files. This function causes ruined applications and it may cause system crashes when important files are corrupted. The infected machine usually displays the following error message:
“Foobar has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
Please tell Microsoft about the problem.
We have created an error report that you can send to us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.
To see what data this error report contains, click here.”
It may also load the following report:
“C:\Blah.exe is not a valid W32 application.”
Remove W32.Relnek right after it appears on a computer; otherwise it can do irreversible damage.
