I have the paladin virus which is causing various problems.
i noticed it ran some batch files which included ‘CACLS’ commands. unfortunately i didnt see what files it was runnign the commands on but ever since, i get ‘Access is Denied’ when trying to go into ‘Documents and Settings’.
i will be following the removal guide but no where mentions this virus removing access to folders. any ideas?

I have this Virus too. It’s such a headache!
Mine is behaving strangely though, it’s not in the Add/Remove list, i can’t find it in my Program Files or in the registry. I can’t find its processes with task manager. Despite all these it still keeps throwing alerts.
Could there be some other place it might be hidding or has it changed its names?

I have found another hidden file which seems to be realated called REEUQUN.EXE, this is in the documents and settings folder for the username concerned. I had to go into the machine via safe mode command prompt and run attrib -s -h -r to make the two files (REEUQUN.EXE & REEUQUN.SCR) visible and then delete them.
I couldn’t find anything about these above files on the web.
This is a very pervasive program and the list of things I have removed is extensive, and it is still killing AVG and Malwarebytes. I have just noticed another little trick too, it seems to block access to malware removal sites, though it could just be that the machine I am working on does in fact have multiple infections.
