    Sir/Madam:

I attempted to download the software to remove security center 2012. I could only “save” it not start it. Also there was no opportunity to say where to save it. Can you provide guidance as to where it was saved?

It depends on the downloads settings of your browser. Usually the folder is My Documents/Downloads or the Desktop. The download folder can be changed so it really depends on the setting you made for your computer.
Also, chances are that the rogue program is blocking your downloads. In that case, download malware remover on another computer and simply copy the install file to the infected machine via thumb drive.
