How to remove Green Antivirus 2009
Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 at 1:27 amGreen Antivirus 2009 description
GreenAntivirus 2009 a.k.a. GreenAV 2009 represents the new generation of rogue security tools. GreenAntivirus 2009 functions just like the others: it is installed by trojans and then it demands paying for using the program. It also displays annoying security warnings that are all fabricated.

What’s new about this corrupt security program? GreenAntivirus2009 uses interesting ways to persuade people to buy a copy of the software for $89.90. The creators of GreenAV2009 claim that an infected computer does a huge damage to environment and they insist that GreenAntivirus 2009 is the best way to deal with computer infections. Surprisingly, the official website greenantivirus2009.com also claims that company dedicates $2 of every purchase to saving green forests in Amazonia. How cute and fraudulent is that?
GreenAntivirus2009 doesn’t function as anti-virus because it is a computer parasite. Don’t expect scammers responsible for Green Antivirus to be interested in saving the planet.

Green AV has been driving me crazy for the last several days and the ATT reps haven’t been able to help me, except to suggest that I get on google and find ways to remove the software, which I did. I found help on yahoo. com search engine. I’ve downloaded a couple of programs that hopefully work. Only time will tell.

No, I have not been able to remove the pop-up. I’m wondering if we need to buy a different antivirus?
Thanks,

The pop-up might be displayed by adware, not the Green Antivirus 2009 itself, that’s why removing Green Anti-virus hadn’t helped. Try different anti-spyware, not anti-virus. Antivirus is not designed to delete infections like this.

Green AV had been bugging me for an hour… when I destroyed ALL the viruses with CA Anti-Virus (Woo-hoo!), CA Anti-Virus listed one more virus… Green AV.
Too bad my free trial of CA Anti-Virus ends today.
Anyways… Darn greedy people of Green AV.
Woohoo! Free from Green AV…

Will these programs possibly appear under different file names than the ones you have listed? For example, on the processes tab in my task manager, I have a process “gav.exe.” I would like to assume that this is the process that I need to remove, but am not super-savvy when it comes to tinkering with my computer, and am taking the warning about deleting the wrong processes to heart.

Yes, Paul, these files usually mutate, hackers change those names that it would be difficult to remove. I’ve added gav.exe to the processes and files.

Hi. My computer was being super slow. And this website popped up and it was Green AV. And i clicked install because i thought it was a “gree anti-virus” site, but it just won’t go away! And it slows my computer down. And i have dial up, so the download for the spyware doctore isn’t helping too much. Ugh! Well, if you have any suggestions email me thanks!

Use the manual removal guide if your anti-spyware is not helpful.

Don’t blame Norton. Antivirus tools are not meant to deal with infections like Green Antivirus 2009. You need antispyware to located and remove the infection. You can also use the manual removal guide; it’s above the comments section.

Check the manual removal guide. There are lists of malicious files and other things installed by Green Antivirus. If you can’t find any of the malicious entries, this will mean that your computer is fine.

Unfortunately, sometimes the files might be named differently. Run antispyware to delete the infection for you.
