Run the scanner in a safe mode. This way Cyber Security shoudn’t be able to block it.

when i was going through the spyware doctor scanner, i got another CyberSecurity warning…now i cant interact with the spyware but its still running….so how can i get to the scanner without responding to the cyber security! if i press no my computer will restart , and if i press yes it will probably make the infection worse…help

Note that csc.exe is also the name of the C# (C-Sharp) compiler that’s part of Microsoft’s .Net (Dot-Net) framework. I don’t know a reliable way to tell the legit csc from the bogus one(s). Comments?

You should report them to the Better Business Bureau. That’s what I’m going to do. It’s easy to do online and if enough people do it, there might be a class action lawsuit.

This either means the file doesn’t exist on your computer or it exists under different name. Go to the next step of the removal.

If you still get the alerts, the malware is not removed yet. Go through the manual removal guide and make sure you remove each thing related to Cyber Security. There’s a chance the warning is loaded by a trojan or adware instead of CyberSecurity. In that case you need to run anti-spyware scan to delete the infection.

I just got done cleaning a system with this infection. It was putting up a “security warning” for every web page I tried to get to using IE. I was able to get to http://www.getfirefox.com and click on the download quickly enough before the page was hijacked to the bogus security warning again. After installing Firefox I was able to get to downloads.com and pull down Avast! anti-virus (free home edition anti-virus), malwarebytes (free home edition malware removal) and for good measure, Adaware anti spyware (free home edition).

I ran Avast! update and scanned, it detected Cyber Security and a few other infections, some running in memory, so it asked if it could restart the computer and do a post-boot scan. I did this and when the computer was done scanning (found multiple infections which I moved to the “chest”) XP came up without issues, Cyber Security was gone. I then installed and updated Malwarebytes, ran a scan, cleaned other infections Avast! didn’t catch, but nothing related to Cyber Security. Did the same with Adaware, but there was little more than cookies detected as a potential threat at that point.

After all that, I checked for Avast! updates one more time, ran another full system scan and all comes up clean. Internet Explorer is now behaving as one would expect (though the user should be using the Firefox browser I installed anyway…).

csc.exe is the only one that should be on your Task Manager, other files you’ve mentioned should hide on some folders on your PC. If the files are not there, it’s not necessarily a bad thing although they might be named differently.
I’m glad you were able to uninstall the malware. Would you like to share your experience with people who still have the problem? Your advices may be helpful.

Cyber Security is not on the Control panel because it’s not a regular program, it’s a computer infection. Run anti-spyware to delete this malware or follow the manual removal guide step by step.

hi – i just used the manual steps to remove it and it worked. I had tried to delete and also went to DOS to try to delete and rename and it wouldnt let me. After is did the ctrl+alt+del and stopped the process it was easy to get rid of.

I suggest going through all the steps of manual removal guide. Stopping the processes is not enough to deal with Cyber Security infection.

umm i have that stupid thing its hard to take out i have
Spyware doctor and yea i deleted it once that trojan virus well cyber security and yea that was the only time it pop up there when i first scan and yea it never showed up in spyware docter i ended it many times in (txs maneger) and it keeps coming back i removed it with add and delete or unistall programs
i scanned it with Reystry boot and scanned it with Malwarebytes and yea nothing can remove it

i shouldn’t have to pay money to remove something from my computer that i didn’t load in. if they put this in without my knowledge which they did why should it cost me if i find out how to them i will sue them for this not everyone has money to throw away like this and it seems its gonna cost me dearly for this crap

McAfee might be able to remove Cyber Security, but you should try deleting this fraud using anti-spyware. McAfee is anti-virus and it’s meant to remove different kind of computer infections.

I had this same problem. I was able to get rid of it WITHOUT PAYMENT to someone else. I burned it to a disk and then went into the “Run” program on my computer(start menu, search programs:Run), typed in “taskmgr” when the box comes up click on image name; look for csc.exe., cs.exe., or cs.exe.32. then click on the “End Process” button, follow the prompts. I downloaded this cyber security and paid for it because I was under the impression it was from a program i already had. Well i talked to a supposed “customer service” person and they told me they would refund my money.. I however do not believe that will happen. I then paid for some windows defense thing out of stupidity I suppose and i can no longer find it on my computer. The shortcut and everything has disappeared. I don’t know what to do. Was the windows defense I paid for a complete scam also?? I don’t know anything about all this… I’m so confused.
