Downadup.D description

W32.Downadup.D a.k.a. Conficker.D is the new version of the infamous Conficker worm. While Conficker.B is the most widespread variant of this malware, Conficker.C is the most known for setting the panic on April 1st 2009.

While forerunners of Downadup.D were able to join infected machines into botnet, the newest version seems to miss this feature. W32Conficker.D/ Downadup.D lowers computer’s security settings by disabling firewall, antispyware, antivirus and other security-related programs. This leaves the compromised machine open for further infections.
