This information has done absolutely nothing to help. We can't get into the task mgr in normal mode and the process is not listed in task mgr in safe mode.

This spyware actually manifests itself, on the two machines i have seen it on, as an alternate data stream attached to a system process. YOu can delete .exe and DLLs all day long, remove reg keys, it doesnt matter. Any spyware scan will crash when the portion of windows\system32 is scanned that has the root virus files, and the executable of the program that was scanning will have its permissions reset. The only way I could complete a scan is by disabling the majority of services and scanning, but then the virus was not loaded into memory, so there was nothing to clean. SPyware doctor was the only tool that could scan, though removal did not work. Ad-Aware, Malwarebytes, Spybot, McAfee, SpySweeper, and others all suffer the crash and permission reset, as does Explorer.exe if you browse to the location in system32. Other registry cleaning utilities share the same vulnerability...the only way I got the systems back up and running was a format and reinstall. Another activity of note, one infected PC wrote an autorun and a script to a flash drive that was inserted, which could spread the virus to other PCs. Be very careful

Run the anti-spyware scan in safe mode. This way it is more effective because the malware is not loaded automatically in the safe mode so you should be able to delete it.

This solution does't work for me either. I can find only PAVRM.exe. Deleted that and the virus is still there. Can barely get into safet mode. when I do, and can get to regedit, the files noted above are not there to delete.

Starting in a safe mode does not work - it constantly reboots the PC. It does allow to start in normal mode

This virus has made it so that I can't use regedit or taskmgr - anything I type in the run prompt fails. Every time I download a virus software suggested (like the one here) it get's through the scan and shuts down. Then I can never open or install it again. What do I do???
