Antivirus 360 description

Antivirus 360 is the newest version of infamous malware Antivirus 2009. It is distributed by trojans, but you may also download it manually.

Antivirus360 is typical corrupt program in many ways but it is actually more dangerous than others. Antivirus 360 supposedly detects malicious files and it offers deleting them after user buys a full version of Antivirus 360. There are several problems about this fraudulent strategy. Antivirus 360 demands paying money for removing infections but this program isn’t capable of detecting or deleting malwares. Furthermore, the files indicated as malicious by Antivirus360 are actually essential for Windows to function. It usually “detects” winlogon.exe, regedt32.exe and eventvwr.exe. These are not infections; do not delete files reported by Antivirus 360. The malware may also block Internet Explorer.

Do not pay for Antivirus 360! It is malicious and it should be removed as soon as possible.

How to manually remove Antivirus 360

  7. Dani

ive downloaded the antivirus 360 tool, but it says i need to pay for the programme before deleting the threats, isnt this what the antivirus 360 is doing?

i just want this antivirus 360 off my computer, help me

    Luciana Reply:

    Hello Dani,

Most of anti-spyware tools are actually paid. There is a huge difference between the removal tool Spyware Doctor and Antivirus 360. Antivirus 360 loads fake scan and fake security alerts. It slows a computer down and blocks real security programs. It also limits internet browsing. Well, you can read the description above for more information about Antivirus 360. And the removal tool help you eliminate the malwares like Antivirus 360 and all the troubles they cause. You get services for the price while you get nothing by paying for Antivirus 360.

I’m not trying to convince you to buy the software. And i know how annoying Antivirus360 is. You can easily delete it using the manual removal instructions. Simply follow the tutorial step by step.

Trial version of antivirus 360 removal tool is free and the full version is paid. If you face any problems installing the program, follow the steps provided at How to download and install Spyware Doctor tutorial guide.

  10. Dani

ive installed the spyware doctor and i keep on scanning and cleaning the computer, but im still getting the pop ups and it keeps blocking websites when im in the middle of doing something, do you know what else i can do?

i m also getting the same problem.the thing is my internet explorer gets blocked.i have tried to open it by so many ways.but i cant open it.pls help me out as soon as possible.
i have already checked register enteries.ther also i didnt find anything.pls reply me soon

    Luciana Reply:

Unfortunately, Antivirus 360 is able to block internet access. Remove the infection and you will be able to use the Internet Explorer normally.

The malicious files and registries may be named differently on your computer. Make sure you’ve deleted everything related to ‘Antivirus 360′ and ‘Av360′.

    Annette Reply:

Go to your task manager and it says that A360 is running, click end task, that stops it from running while your on your computer, also click processes on the task manager it comes up in there too and click on the av360 and click end process. I have this crap in my comp myself and I still cant fully remove it but I got it to stop turning my computer on and off by doing this and so far its working. I am still searching for a way to completely remove it from my computer.

  11. jonna

wow.. whats this spyware antivius 360…it gives me headache.. anyway thanks for the instructions. i succesfully removed it from my pc… thank you very much. before, my only option is to format the comp. but now.. i succesfully deleted it and blocked it with your help here. it took me 20 minutes to totally remove all.

    lorna Reply:

Hi, did you remove antivirus 360 just by downloading the removal tool??
    What a headache this is!

    Luciana Reply:

jonna removed the infection manually. You can also use the removal tool; simply download the program, install it and run a scan.

  12. robin

tried to register to spyware but keep getting the pop up message from antivirus 360…unable to register….how can i proceed?

    Luciana Reply:

    Hello robin,

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘register to spyware’, but whatever you do, don’t pay for Antivirus 360. That program is a scam. The threats reported by Antivirus 360 are not real. Antivirus 360 won’t remove a thing because it’s not an anti-virus. It’s a scam targeting your money.

Follow the manual removal guide provided above to remove Antivirus360 and it’s pop-ups.

  13. nichole

i did all the steps listed above, but the program is still in my computer… i have no idea why, help pleasee!!!

    Luciana Reply:

    Hello nichole,

There might be some other malwares on your computer besides Antivirus 360 causing the problems you’ve described. Have you tried running anti-spyware scan?

  14. Nichole

i purchased the spyware doctor (from pc tools.com) last night. i have ran a full scan 3 times, and twice it has came back clean.

    Luciana Reply:

Make sure your anti-spyware is updated. If your security tools are out of date, they are most likely useless. There is also a possibility that Antivirus 360 blocks the scan. I recommend downloading updates and running a scan in a safe mode.

  18. Jay

well I have been fighting with this Antivirus 360 I almost paid for it but thank God for giving me that gut feeling about this program so I decide to go and try to buy a MacAfee antivirus and it wouldn’t let me so thats when I realized it might be a scam and I visitied this website trying to figure out a way to get rid of it and I hope this works its really annoying

  19. maxi

I don’t understand how to manually get rid of the Antivirus!! Help?!

    Luciana Reply:

maxi, please follow the tutorial step by step. use how to kill malicious processes tutorial to stop antivirus 360 processes and use how to delete registry entries tutorial to delete malicious registry entries.

Jill, there’s a possibility that antivirus 360 blocks your security program. i recommend running a scan in a safe mode.

  20. Jill

I installed the removal program, but all it did was detect antivirus360, it wouldn’t remove it, why?

  21. Dawn

    what is av360.exe
Ok, I did the first step however I do not have anything in the registry similar to av360.exe. (nothing with 360 in it at all) Any ideas what else it could be listed as?

  22. Dawn

I’ve gotten to unregister DLL files, however all my prompts have C:\Windows\system 32> and when I enter the files I receive response that the specified module could not be found. What’s wrong?

    Luciana Reply:

Dawn, there shouldn’t be anything like 360.exe on the registry of your pc. you should look for the following entries:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\13376694984709702142491016734454

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “13376694984709702142491016734454″

There are no malicious dlls mentioned on the manual removal of Antivirus 360; could you specify which manual removal you were referring to?

Please, let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Dawn Reply:

I’m still getting websites that are blocked; cannot get to purchase spyware online.
Are their files under “Detect and delete other Antivirus 360 files”, I can’t seem to locate these? Other ideas?

    Luciana Reply:

Make sure you block websites with both http:// and http:// www

    Here’s an example:

    http:// antivirus-rapid-scanner.com and
    http:// www. antivirus-rapid-scanner.com

    This should help.

  23. Brett

I’m trying to remain calm as much as possible with this ridiculously horrible program running on my computer. Although it’s quite difficult! Let me try and explain what I need help with as briefly, and easily as possible.

First: I try and to block the sites using the HOSTS document, but when I go to save I get a message stating “Cannot create the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc hosts file. Make sure the path and file name are correct.” So as of now I can’t block the sites successfully.

Second: I searched and found no process under that name.
Third: I found no registries under that name.
Fourth: I found no other antivirus files.
Fifth: I did manage to go into the hard drive and delete the av360 file that was located in there. Me being simple minded, thought that’d take care of it. But welcome to modern technology, it didn’t. I’ve somehow managed to obtain the antivirus that blocks practically EVERY site, and throws in some pop-ups every now and then.

I’m sorry for the long comment, but I noticed you reply quite often to people that need assistance. I’m just one that needs quite a lot of assistance. Please reply as soon as possible with any help. Thank you soo much. I appreciate it greatly.

    bryan Reply:

    Brett,
    1. I think u’re trying to create file in wrong path. You should find existing “C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts” file and edit it.
2,3,4. I’ve just updated this post with new files and aliases. Try to search again.
    5. Yes there might be other related files or processes

And finally did you try to scan with automatic removal tool which we recommend?

    Brett Reply:

Wow, with some of those updates I found more files that I didn’t delete. You guys are amazing. Even though the virus is not completely gone, I can tell my computer is struggling less.

I actually mixed things up when I was searching, and accidently put one of those file names, in the “find” box for the registries(if that makes sense) and it found some files pertaining to the antivirus. So I took it upon myself to delete them.

My computer stills seems a bit sluggish, but not nearly as bad as it was. And when I search I don’t get the blocks saying that “I should register my antivirus”, nor do I get pop ups. I haven’t tried the scan you guys recommended. Because the antivirus blocked it, but now I’ll try it again.

Sorry for the long reply again…
But nonetheless. THANK YOU. You don’t know how much I appreciate it. Hopefully I’ll find and kill the last of this virus soon, keep up the good work guys.

    Brett Reply:

Oh. And I can’t block the sites.
I click on the HOSTS file, and put it in notepad, and add the sites along with the address. Just like the example shows. But it won’t let me do it. I put it in wordpad and tried it, and it said my access was denied. Not sure.

    Luciana Reply:

    Hello there,

This might happen because of strict user permissions settings on your computer. This especially applies if you are using Windows Vista. If you’re using other version of Windows, try to edit the HOSTS file with the admin account.

If you are using Windows Vista, open the file this way: open Accessories-> right click on the Notepad -> Run As Administrator, and then open the HOSTS file. This should allow you to make the necessary changes.

  24. Dawn

    Lucina,
What about “Detect and delete other Antivirus 360 files”? Where do I find these and how do I change? My C:\ prompt has other words and doesn’t allow me to change/edit it?

    Luciana Reply:

    Hello again,

The location of the other files varies so you have to use the search function to find those malicious files. Simply minimize all the windows and click F3 button and you’ll get to Windows Search. Then copy name of the file you want to find into the search field and click the search button.

  25. Dawn

Something is still not right, sorry but need LOTS of help. After doing scan, it prompts me to purchase Spyware Dr. but keep receiving “blocked, purchase 360 anti virus” even though I’m not getting the 360 popups. My system remains sluggish and not sure what else to do…HELP!!

    Luciana Reply:

since you have spyware doctor, i suggest you use it to remove antivirus 360 instead of going through the manual removal guide. Have you tried running antispyware scan in a safe mode?

    Dawn Reply:

hate to be “dumb” but not sure how to do so? I can run the scan, it detects the infected items, but I can’t get past that point to get rid of.

    Luciana Reply:

    Hello there again,

Do you use the full version of Spyware Doctor? If so, restart your computer and press the F8 button till you see a list of options to boot a computer in a safe mode or to boot a computer in a normal mode. choose the safe mode and then run a scan. once you’re done with the infection, boot a computer in a normal mode using the same method.

Please, let us know how the things go.

    Dawn Reply:

Only have trial Spyware Dr., can’t download full version as it “blocks” website. F8 does nothing on my computer. Have tried manual removal process but still getting MANY websites blocked advising to purchase antivirus 360. What now????

  26. Macenzie

I’m trying to delete this Antivirus360 program using the Spyware Doctor, and it had detected the threats and infections in my computer. I clicked where it says, “Fixed Checked.” And it will not let me continue without registering or purchasing this product in some way. Is there any way I can skip this part and just get rid of the AntiVirus program?

    Luciana Reply:

You may also remove Antivirus 360 manually.

  27. Avolyn

Okay I am like 12 years old and this “Anitivirus 360″ thing is pissing me off.
If my laptop crashes I am so dead.
I downloaded the Antivirus 360 removal but I’m not gonna pay for it,
    so I tried it manually.
I did the “How to kill a malicious processes?” thing but I’m not sure which ones to end process.
Is it the ones that say “Local Service” under username?
Because I can’t tell with the Image name.

  28. Avolyn

okay nevermind I got it away!!!
I feel pretty smart for a 12 year old
    haha
    anyways I have a question,
if I uninstall the spyware doctor
    will the viruses come back???

    Luciana Reply:

Spyware Doctor may prevent future infections. You may not get infected after uninstalling the tool, but you know, it’s better safe than sorry.

  29. John Doe

Nothing is working give me a clue already, keep coming to websites claiming they get rid of this goddamn infection and nothing works, give me a website, and give me a scanner to delete this thing!

    Luciana Reply:

Well, you can find both the removal and antispyware scanner right here. Check the manual removal guide above or download antispyware scanner to delete Antivirus 360 automatically.

  30. Kellan

    Hey.

My friend got this on her computer, and we followed the above removal steps for manual removal, because we disconnected her internet for the removal. But I’m curious abouta few things:

The program wouldn’t even allow her to access the internet. Is AV360 capable of doing this?

After we did the afore mentioned steps, we rebooted her computer, her system32.exe file was corrupt, and the system would not boot up. Can AV360 do this, or is there an underlying condition here?

Also, we went through the removal steps, but didn’t find any of the registry entrys. So we deleted nothing in the registry, or in any Windows folders. My point is, can AV360, after being deleted, cause a corruption of system files?

    Thank you.

    Luciana Reply:

Yes, Antivirus 360 is able to limit internet connection and prevent web browser from going to security related websites. It may also cause other troubles related to internet speed.

You couldn’t affect system files by removing files mentioned on the manual removal. You most likely get the error message because you hadn’t deleted Antivirus360 and it tries to run the missing files.

Malwares keep mutating and Antivirus360 may put different registry entries now than those it used when we tested the program. We will update the manual removal as soon as possible. Since you weren’t able to delete the infection manually, i strongly recommend running antispyware scan to delete the remains of Antivirus 360.

  31. Aaron

Well long story short, I read the “Stop and remove Antivirus 360 processes” section and for the moment the pop-ups seemed to have stopped on my computer. But every now and then my internet lags and comes up with the “this page might contain malicious spyware etc. download antivirus” crap. It even says in google tips that I have an unregistered version.

Obviously, this means that the same virus is somehow off my desktop but somehow still messing with my intenet…how do I get it out?

  32. Aaron

oops, sorry…the virus said “this page might contain malicious viruses, download antivirus 360″after I typed the first comment in so I had to go back and type it again, sorry for the 2 comments…

    Luciana Reply:

Killing malicious processes is not enough, you also need to delete the malicious files. There’s also a chance that you computer is infected with other malwares besides Antivirus360. Some trojans and browser hijackers may cause the problems you’ve described to “advertise” Antivirus 360. If removing Antivirus 360 won’t help, i strongly recommend running antispyware scan.

  33. Kevin

All of these solutions are poor at best and the only way to clean, and prevent this from ever happening is to install some actual threat detecting antivirus programs like ESET NOD32. Do yourselve’s a favor and do some Google research on antivirus programs that actually work. NOD32 cleans this and prevents it from happening. If you google the terms “nod32 antivirus comparison” you’ll see why NOD32 beats Norton, McAfee, and all the others you may already be using. Best of all there is a free 30 day trial that will fix this 360 problem.

    Luciana Reply:

I comprehend the idea of both antispyware and antivirus needed to keep a computer safe. However, antivirus is not enough and it’s not able to delete infections like Antivirus 360. Good antivirus may detect and delete the trojans that distribute rogue security programs, but it won’t deal with the fraudulent programs. Antiviruses aren’t even meant to deal with the infections like this; that’s why anti-spyware is needed along with anti-virus.

  34. Hanna

This was great! I got rid of AntiSpyware 360 manually and it worked! Of course I remembered to set a System Restore Point, but it was good. I don’t think the downloads work however.

  35. inelle

  36. Mandy

Ok, I have been reading all of these and I am one dumb person because I have no clue how to remove manually. I did however run a scan in safe mode an it looked like it came back clean. The computer that is infected is my office computer so there is some very personal information on our clients that I don’t want anyone to get. Please give me a ligitimate tool to remove this for me… If you have “remove antivirus 360 for dummies” that would be perfect. Thank you.

Look at the manual removal guide above the comments area. The first step is to stop malicious processes like “av360.exe, AV_360[n].exe” and others. Here’s a tutorial how to kill processes. Then you need to delete malicious registry entries using this tutorial. There is a link to explanation next to every step of the removal instructions.

do i need to restart the computer in order to enable this program?

    Luciana Reply:

Spyware Doctor takes some time to download updates and to scan a system. However, your case is different. Antivirus 360 is able to block internet access and security programs. You can trick this malware by booting your computer in a safe mode. Simply start your computer in a safe mode and then run Spyware Doctor scan.

i couldnt download the malwarebytes. and it exited in the middle of the scanning! please help me.

Download Spyware Doctor or use the manual removal guide. Both ways are effective.

I downloaded spyware doctor and then paid for it. I’ve run several scans. I ran one in safe mode as well. Sometimes they find something and delete it but I still have the AV360 problem.
To delete it manually, how do I know wich processes to delete???

    Luciana Reply:

Take a look at the manual removal guide above the comments section. Antivirus 360 runs the following processes:

    av360.exe
    AV_360[n].exe
    AV_360VIT (n).exe
    AV_360VIT.exe
    66442657.exe
    23786763.exe
    40782237.exe
    43789068.exe
    55120337.exe
    91830808.exe

Make sure you remove all the malicious files.

I got the Antivirus 360 and I think i took care of it. Is there anyway to know for sure that it is gone?

    Luciana Reply:

Follow the manual removal guide just to check if the malicious files are still on your computer. And if you find some, you can simply delete them.

I have completed the removal of the antivirus 360 using the download, but now my computer is extremely slow. I have ran the disk defrag and disk cleaning and uninstall some programs, but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks

Run Spyware Doctor once again in a safe mode. It will delete more infections this way and your computer should be fine.

ok so I removed Antivirus 360 only to find that somehow it still has a hold on my web browser. I went back and looked through everything on my computer to see if I had missed something and I hadn’t. What do I need to do to rid Antivirus 360 from my web browser??

    Luciana Reply:

Are you sure you’ve removed all the files that belong to Antivirus 360? I recommend going through the manual removal once again. Your web browser might be hijacked by some other malware. Do you use any security programs?

I assume you are able to locate the malicious registry entries. Use how to delete registry entries tutorial to deal with the infection.

Hey, my computer was infected with AV360 a little while back. I’ve been working on deleting everything. Most of the program, I feel, is gone. I don’t get pop-ups anymore, but my computer remains to be a bit sluggish. I was browsing my files (Program Files>Common Files>System>Uninstall) and found one file in there named “Uninstall AV360″. Just the fact it had AV360 in it I deleted it, lol. But just out of curiousity was wondering if that could have held a virus. Keep up the good work guys, your helping a LOT of people.

I followed your manual removal instructions above to the letter. I have never been able to remove any rogue antivirus 2009 (aka antivirus 360) as easily as I did today. Thank you!!!

Antispyware programs are not necessary for removing Antivirus 360. Take a look at Antivirus 360 manual removal guide above this comments section. Follow the tutorial carefully. There is a link to more detailed explanation next to every step of the guide. i.e. there is Read more how to block Antivirus 360 sites tutorial next to “Block Antivirus 360 sites”.

Please help me ive tried to get rid of this 360 thing and its driving me nuts it takes ages to download spyware doctor and the other one doesnt come up! Im computer iliterate a bit so please can anyone help?

    Luciana Reply:

Antivirus 360 is able to block security websites and security programs. You may download the install on some other computer and then bring it to the infected machine using usb drive or cd something like that.

I recommend using the manual removal since it is equally effective but it might be simpler considering Antivirus360 ability to block security tools. Take a look at the manual removal guide provided above.
